Standard VII: Micro-Political Leadership
A. School Executive Micro-political Leadership: The school executive develops systems and relationships to leverage staff expertise and influence the school’s identity, culture and performance.
Reframing Organizations
There are four frames : structural, human resource, political, and symbolic. Each frame is integral to the success of any organization but definitely in education. In collaboration with my fellow cohort members, the below presentation was created to share information on the importance of structural frames. As a result of this I will be prepared to create and implement rules, policies, and procedures to prevent problems from arising and create formal relationships.
The below artifact is a group product and resource that explains how to form a leadership team based on staff expertise and relationships. I aspire to be an instructional leader that builds relationships and capacity of my staff.
In discussion with DPI Transformation Coach, Saysha Carter and collaboration with HCSD Associate Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, I designed the District Learning Walk Tool for implementation. Before designing the document, we brainstormed and collaborated about components to include. I will be able to work collaboratively with Central Office Support Staff to create and implement new initiative that will impact teaching and learning.

Standard Alignment
It is my belief that Standard VI and Standard VII are aligned. Being able to increase parental and community engagement is
micro-political because of relationships. I will be able to create mutual beneficial relationships to impact teaching and learning.
